Beach restaurants and bars in Estepona, a new way of enjoying gastronomy and nature22 Dec, 2017 Manolo Alarcon

Estepona gains followers day by day as a favorite place on the Costa del Sol. Quieter than Marbella, but with all the leisure options imaginable, with a large historic center of traditional Andalusian flavor and with the best urban beach in the whole area, with an incredible view of the Rock of Gibraltar and the African coast on clear days.

One of the greatest pleasures granted by buying a house in Estepona is the possibility of relaxing in one of the great beach bars and restaurants that dot its beautiful coastline. Let’s see some examples:

Sonora Beach

Sonora Beach is synonymous with relaxation and a bohemian atmosphere (as we say nowadays, hipster or hippy-chic). Located right on the beach, Sonora Beach has one of its stronger points in music, combining reggae with rock concerts, but there is much more. In the gastronomic section, it has a varied and original menu.

Here you can taste Spanish specialties, fish and meat dishes, assorted salads, but also more informal food, such as hamburgers, paninis, wraps…. In addition, there is a small shop, with its own clothing line, Mucholarala, and beautifully designed jewelry, inspired by Indian and Bali traditions.

For those who want to enjoy more of the beach and the possibility of tanning (or a good siesta in the shade after a good meal), sunbeds and hammocks are rented.

Golden Mile Beach

Golden Mile Beach is a restaurant on the seafront, with wonderful views, where you can start with a plate of Iberian ham or Galician style octopus. The main courses include seafood paella and grilled steak.

Salduna Beach

The Salduna Beach chill-out restaurant is located directly on the sand of Benamara beach, which offers the best sunsets on the Costa del Sol. In this intimate corner, away from the tourist bustle, Africa is visible just before the moon rises, in scenes that will remain in our memory long after.

The Salduna Beach restaurant invites you to live a Mediterranean and international proposal, with the signature cuisine of chef Gontzal Martín Pereda. Crunchy prawns, duck confit over mashed potatoes and orange sauce or salmon with cava sauce and grilled vegetables are some of the highlights of their menu.

Jardines de la Cala

Following the route marked by the Arroyo de la Cala, you will find this establishment, specializing in Andalusian cuisine, with beautiful gardens that are the ideal setting for a relaxed meal or dinner in good company.

The Jardines de la Cala restaurant specializes in the fusion of Moroccan and Spanish cuisine. Diners can enjoy the flavors from the other side of the Strait, such as a chicken briwat, an authentic couscous or a kefta tajine.

The croquettes, the scrambled cod, the musaka and the burgers are part of the European offer that completes this gastronomic proposal.
