Best interior designers in Marbella, Estepona, Benahavis and Sotogrande. What does an interior designer do? The interior designer creates spaces and environments in our house. Decoration is an important element in interior design. But the interior designer works with the space itself to make it welcoming, pleasant, aesthetic and also functional. A good interior designer develops all the potentialities that can be found in our home. And he personalizes our home according to our taste. A good interior designer turns a house or an apartment into the home we want.

Our real estate agency Libehomes advises its clients so as to find the best interior designers in Marbella, Estepona, Benahavis or Sotogrande. This gives us the possibility of offering our particular ranking of the best:

PEDRO PEÑA

Pedro Peña is the benchmark for excellence in decoration and interior design in Marbella. And he has created a top international brand. Moreover, he has carried out projects in New York, London, Paris, Berlin and Dubai, among other cities around the world.

To begin with, Pedro Peña is an artist. His early vocation as a painter was consolidated with his stay in Madrid in the 1970s. There he absorbed the influence of the great Spanish masters of the time, such as Antonio López, and also the most diverse international trends.

Pedro Peña arrived in Marbella in 1976. Those were the years when the city established itself as the great capital of luxury tourism in southern Europe. The city had multiple cultural influences, enriched by creators from the most diverse origins and in all sorts of activities. Pedro Peña has incorporated all these elements into his creative process as an interior designer and as an artist.

Like in the case of any recognized artist, Pedro Peña’s signature defines a style. He calls it “contemporary Mediterranean”. The warmth and intensity of Spanish aesthetics, the exquisite Italian design, French sophistication and the contributions of Islamic and North African traditions are all present in it.

Art and design shake hands

With his artistic vision, Pedro Peña conceives spaces as if they were the canvases for his paintings and the materials (wood, leather, textiles), his palette of paints. The special look of an artist’s eye provides balance and harmony to all the component pieces. And the key is the space between them: enough to communicate, to let them “breathe” and jointly transmit that unique sensation conveyed only by great creators.

These ancestral artistic traditions merge with the most modern technologies, with a leading role for 3D visualization. At Pedro Peña they have a well established tradition: a project is finished when the designer can “sit” on it, using virtual technologies, and certify its achiement.

Pedro Peña has a 3,500 m2 showroom and an art gallery in the heart of Marbella’s Golden Mile, with works by artists such as Francis Bacon, Antoni Tapies, Eduardo Chillida and Miquel Barceló.

AMBIENCE by ANDREA BOCK

Andrea Bock is a prestigious interior designer of German origin, based in Marbella, where she launched Ambient in 2002. Her project is a reference not only in Marbella, but internationally. Her team of 35 people consists of a creative team (designers, architects) and a logistics and installation team (which allows projects to come true from start to finish, down to the last detail).

The creativity and taste of Andrea, who is also an art curator, have been the main drivers of inspiration for Ambience. However, she has managed to combine it with the contributions of a talented team of designers and architects. Her luxury projects are a success not only in Spain: they have reached the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Morocco, Egypt, Hong Kong and other places.

The services offered by Ambience comprise 3 sections:

  • Comprehensive reforms of luxury homes and interior architecture (mainly villas on the Costa del Sol).
  • Home interior design.
  • Interior design of commercial premises.

Ambience’s creative team takes care of everything: study of the project, budgets, preparation of renders and floor plans and execution of the work down to the last detail (including lighting, equipment…).

Ambience Home Design by Andrea Bock has its emblematic headquarters in the heart of Marbella’s Golden Mile, in La Poveda shopping center. We highlight the outlet, where exquisite designer pieces can be purchased with up to a 50% discount.

GUNNI & TRENTINO

Gunni & Trentino represents a spectacular “success story” in Spanish interior design. Born 50 years ago from the merger of 2 family businesses, it has become a great brand with international projection. It has decoration shops in Marbella, Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Bogotá and Qatar.

Gunni & Trentino is synonymous with great variety. The company boasts more than 40,000 references online. And they are official distributors of more than 600 brands. Gunni & Trentino features also its own brand of bathroom and kitchen furniture, cabinets and floor and wall coverings. Their annual catalog is really impressive (and can be downloaded online). With such abundance, it is almost impossible for clients not to find a solution for their project.

Indeed, Gunni & Trentino works with all styles and for all tastes: classic, modern, contemporary, country, colonial and avant-garde. The company places great emphasis on personalized attention. The coordination between its various departments is complete, so that each client has only one interlocutor at all times during the development of their project.

Logistics is also a strong point for Gunni & Trentino: they have their own transportation fleet for their products. And they have also their own assembly teams. They do not outsource these services, so as to guarantee maximum speed and efficiency.

The Gunni & Trentino store in Marbella is located on Bulevar Príncipe Alfonso de Hohenlohe, on the Golden Mile. They also have a permanent outlet, although located in Madrid.

BANNI

Banni Elegant Interiors is one of the most prestigious interior design brands in Spain, with offices in Marbella, Madrid, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca. Banni works on all kinds of projects, from decorating homes to commercial premises, companies, hotels, real estate developments… and even yachts.

Banni’s team has completed more than 8,000 projects, in a total of 17 countries. Among them we can mention the Sky Bar of the Hotel Puerta América, in Madrid, and the restaurants Hoja Santa and Niño Viejo, by Ferrán Adriá and Albert Adriá, in Barcelona.

Banni’s main strong points are kitchens and bathrooms. The kitchen and bathroom furniture is self-made, as well as the closets and dressing rooms. This allows them to offer excellent value for money. They also have a wide variety wall coverings and flooring. And they are official distributors of the most important luxury furniture brands.

The Banni Elegant Interiors store and showroom in Marbella is in El Capricho Shopping Center, on the Golden Mile. Banni also has an outlet where you can buy luxury furniture at very interesting prices. And it is also online, directly on its website, so you can buy without having to travel.

FEMONT GALVAN

Femont Galvan was born from a fusion of talents, that of an industrial designer (Geoffrey Femont) and an interior architect (Ivonne Galvan). Each of them has contributed the richness and diversity of their cultural background to a common vision: Geoffrey, from his native Antwerp, and Ivonne, from Mexico (but both with the imprint of Milan, having trained at the Istituto Europeo di Design).

Femont Galvan’s philosophy is that of the craftsman and artist who love their trade. They treat each piece with the utmost care, to achieve perfection. Their team is small and they are directly involved in each project. Customization and adaptation to the taste of each of its clients is one of their hallmarks. They cannot be missing in a list of the best interior designers in Marbella.

One look at any of Femont Galvan’s projects gives us an idea of their truly artistic ability to create spaces. In a minimalist setting, the right touches of natural materials (wood, leather, textiles…) breathe life and warmth to the space; and when it comes to elegance and sophistication, contemporary Moroccan-style ornaments, specially designed in their studio, are an excellent choice.

Femont Galvan have their showroom in the Galeria Comercial Cuarta Fase, in the heart of Marbella’s Golden Mile, and their atelier in the charming town of Manilva.

HEIDI GUBBINS

Heidi Gubbins is the interior designer for those who are looking for something really special. Her trademark means a person-to-person approach and a concept of interior design that is close to art. Heidi runs her studio and is personally involved in each one of her projects.

Her philosophy is: “quality before quantity”. So she avoids dispersing her efforts and concentrates on giving the best of herself and her team to an exclusive number of clients. Heidi Gubbins is an authentic decoration studio-boutique.

“For me, design is a sensory experience, so it can never be a standard process that repeats itself, but rather it has to incorporate the elements that make that room, house or business different from everything else,” she says.

This is not to say that Heidi is only dedicated to “small” projects. She and her team deal with comprehensive reforms, architecture, landscaping or commercial premises (of which the Bongo restaurant or the Biloba Tapas Bar, in Granada, are two good examples).

It is not surprising that she has been the winner of the 2021 Luxury Lifestyle Award for the best luxury interior design studio.

Heidi Gubbins‘ cozy studio is located on Marbella’s Golden Mile.

LA ALBAIDA

La Albaida is no doubt one the best interior designers in Marbella. It was born as a family business more than 30 years ago. In 1991, Maria Pura Pidal opened her first showroom in Malaga. Thus, at the age of 48, she fulfilled her dream of dedicating herself to interior design and decoration. Shortly after, her daughter Mar Barroso joined the project and in 1996 La Albaida opened its second showroom, in the heart of Marbella’s Golden Mile. Today it is the two sisters Mar and Cristina Barroso who are in charge of the company, but they rely on the contribution of a team of 20 professionals.

We can say that La Albaida represents “signature” interior design. The brand has its own style, defined as “contemporary with a Mediterranean touch”. Although they collaborate with the main brands of furniture, lighting, textiles and accessories, a large part of their pieces is of their own design.

Malaga Towers is a good example of La Albaida’s team solutions. In this avant-garde beachfront building, the interior design contributes to the feeling that everything flows towards the sea.

La Albaida has its store/showroom on Avenida Ricardo Soriano, in the heart of Marbella.
